This article is primarily concerned with executable processes in a BPM system (BPMS), which requires a certain amount of human interaction, such as the traditional holiday request or invoice approval. In such processes must always found the right editor for the next step. Different rules for this can be defined. For example, the BPMS needs a supervisor of an employee who just applied for a vacation. Or something more complex: It is looking for a person receiving a bill is allowed to release more than 50,000 € in the line organization and the supervisor of the buyer's who purchased the products for which the invoice is received.

Currently I am always free BPMN tool at times. Sometimes, because I happened to stumble over it and I'm curious and sometimes because I am back on my current tools times worse. So I'm on the eternal search for the perfect tool for me. Had recently spent nearly € 100 for joy with a tool, just because I thought it's the best tool ... but unfortunately it was not.

Therefore I would like to list a few BPM tools that can maybe help one or the other.

Agile project management is indeed the time, especially in IT projects announced total. More and more companies are interested in Scrum, XP and Co. fail because many projects are carried out by conventional PM methods. The reasons are often the complexity of projects and poor communication.

The same problems I also know from BPM projects. It loses itself in process modeling, analysis and design in detail. These phases often take several months. The processes are designed according to the analysis are no longer at the beginning of the design-date, but after yet implemented in any system. In effect, the processes are not fit to the already long been a changed real business.

Works best in this environment, an agile approach?
