Burnout by inappropriate management process

A few days ago I got a lecture by Dr. Siebecke ( Center for burnout prevention , University of Dortmund) belongs. Your lecture was specifically addressed the issue of burnout in the IT industry. During the presentation very interesting to me is quite a graphic especially noticed. The theme of the graphics load situation in innovation processes (unfortunately, I find this video anywhere on the Internet) was. This was assessed by the passive persons affected by the load process and procedural changes as a highly stressful. More distressing was only projects for the reorganization of the company. The persons involved in the implementation of a project management process are much less contaminated than the people who are affected by a change process. I should think as a project manager in a project to process this load be aware of. Why could this be?

Management process often leads to process changes. The persons concerned must adopt the necessary by usual procedures and processes. Habit and routine to create a feeling of security. By changing the processes, a high degree of uncertainty can be generated. If affected people lack adequate information about a project management process and decision "as" you can improve a process, are left out, this is a particular burden. This load can be quickly reflected in an enormous physical stress. In general, there are no small stress peaks, which is a healthy man loose off. Projects in the field of process management already like to take a couple of months or years. And so, the uncertainty and the resulting stress manifest and lead to burnout.

Therefore, change management is an important component of process management.

By definition, change management, ITIL is not meant, but the management of organizational change (see Change Management ). To reduce the uncertainty associated with the affected persons to a minimum, it is necessary to establish an open and honest communication project. Affected people should be involved in important decisions. Thus made decisions come to a greater acceptance and reduce the uncertainty. Therefore it is important that larger process management projects, a solid and well thought out change management is carried out. To reduce stress and prevent burnout among employees.

I am glad that you found the presentation interesting. The picture that you think probably dates from the project Prägo. You can find them in the project booklet on page 9:
