I think it is getting time for an update on free "tools for BPMN modeling." A lot has happened since my last article in this lot in November 2009.

New Study BPM Suites 2010

The Fraunhofer Institute has published a new study on current BPM tools. It analyzes how the various tools support the modeling of processes in BPMN and then they can bring to execution.

We examined eight different products:

  • Cordys BOP
  • ActiveVOS (Dr. Karb GmbH)
  • Intalio | BPMS Works
  • inubit BPM Suite
  • itp Commerce Process Modeler
  • MID Innovator
  • Software AG webMethods
  • Soreco Xpert.ivy

Intalio joins the "Finalization Task Force" for BPMN 2.0 in

Intalio announced yesterday that you now participate as a member of the OMG Finalization Task Force on the adoption of the upcoming BPMN 2.0 specification. ( Source )

How will then after the adoption of the spec. Intalio BPMS that develop?

So far, Intalio BPMN and BPEL uses for the modeling of the process design ( here ). Ismael Gahlimi had this been a clear position with BPMN alone can no processes are running. It lacks the technical information in the process model. ( Why BPEL Matters ). That is also correct. But this clear commitment to BPMN 2.0, and thus next opportunity BPMN process models directly execute in a BPMN process engine that could lead to Intalio disregards the future of the problematic transformation from BPMN to BPEL and the pure BPMN BPM system further developed. praxishandbuch_bpmn In time for the weekend gave me the new Amazon " Practical Guide BPMN "by Jakob Freund, Bernd Rücker and Thomas Henninger . Within hours, I had devoured the book. It contains concentrated information on BPMN 1.2 and 2.0. The information is illustrated by many examples to the reader. (more ...)
